The Great American Race

Original oil on canvas by J Scott Nicol. Dedicated to NASCAR and the DAYTONA 500, J Scott Nicol's "The Great American Race" pays tribute to the great history of racing in Daytona Beach. The 500-mile long race began in the 1950s and is the start of the Cup Series. the DAYTONA 500 is considered the most prestigious race of the series and carries the largest prize. In this painting, Nicol pays tribute to great NASCAR racers, including Cale Yarborough, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Sr., Richard Petty & Jimmie Johnson.
