Evo Love
Plastic Jesus
Plastic Jesus
18" x 24" mixed media collage by Miami artist Evo Love. Influenced by memories of her youth, Love developed a complex and highly personal symbolic language that has allowed her to investigate personal themes, from her Latin and Indigenous heritage, to her interests in magic, love, culture, and history. The use of these images creates an archetype that transcends the boundaries of the human condition, language, race, class, and culture.
Each work in her "Body Shop" Series is original. The artist notes a corresponding quote and song to accompany each piece, rather than the traditional artwork title.
Quote: "Newman's first law: It is useless to put on your brakes when you're upside down." - Paul Newman
Song: "Plastic Jesus" by the Local Honeys
Framed in a modern black frame and non-reflective glass.
