Spring into the ONE DAYTONA Art Festival

Spring into the ONE DAYTONA Art Festival

Spring is in the air and that means it is time for the ONE DAYTONA Art Festival. The ONE DAYTONA Art Festival has become a premier annual event that celebrates the vibrant arts community in Daytona Beach, Florida. Scheduled for April 5 and 6, 2025, from 10 AM to 5 PM, this sixth edition promises an immersive experience for art enthusiasts, families, and all community members alike.

The festival features a curated selection of both juried fine artists and non-juried fine craft artisans. Attendees can explore a diverse selection of artworks, from paintings and sculptures to jewelry and mixed media creations. This event offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with artists, learn about their creative processes, and acquire one-of-a-kind pieces.

Beyond the art displays, the festival offers a variety of activities designed to engage visitors of all ages:

  • Live Music: Enjoy performances by local musicians, including the Daytona State College Jazz Combo, on the Victory Circle Stage.
  • Interactive Art Demonstrations: Witness artists creating masterpieces in real-time, offering insights into various techniques and mediums.
  • Kids' Zone: A dedicated area where children can participate in free art activities, fostering creativity and introducing them to the arts.
  • Student Art Exhibits: View artworks by students from Volusia County Schools and Daytona State College, showcasing emerging talent and the importance of supporting arts education.
  • Mural Competition: Watch as artists create large-scale masterpieces live during the 2-day event.

Gallery500 is honored to host a few of our favorite artists, creating live in Gallery500 throughout the weekend. Watch a new original come to life as Brandon Santiago and Heather Wolynic paint live. Enjoy a behind the scenes look at Deborah Berry’s high-speed liquid photography with the artist herself. View artists sketch a live model during Gallery500’s figure drawing class, with artists from the Daytona Art League.

For the first time ever, Gallery500 will premier the Key West Collection by the famed photographer Jonny Nomad. Many of us know him as the man behind the camera during Jeep Beach, the ONE DAYTONA Art Festival, the Taste of 24, and more throughout Volusia County. Nomad’s keen eye shines bright with his fine art photography. His pieces, often described as “visual poetry,” offer a mesmerizing blend of texture and color, inviting viewers into an introspective journey. Gallery500 is honored to showcase this rarely seen side of Jonny Nomad and his ever-expanding talent.

Gallery500 is also excited to announce an exclusive appearance by internationally renowned artist Roberto Lugo. Lugo’s striking ceramic works blend traditional pottery techniques with contemporary street art influences, celebrating themes of identity, culture, and social change. His artistry has been showcased in major museums and galleries worldwide, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, making his participation a must-see highlight of the event. Guests will have the opportunity to meet and greet Lugo at Gallery500 on Sunday, April 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

For those eager to delve deeper into the creative process, the festival offers art classes and workshops tailored to various skill levels:

  • Paint Like Bob Ross: Embrace your inner artist by participating in an oil painting class led by Ross Certified Instructor Dan Willcox. Space is limited. Reserve your canvas now
  • Explore Watercolors: Bring your creativity and a desire to learn in this beginners watercolor class with Janie Lew.
  • Crafting Charcuterie: Dive into the art of creating beautiful and delicious charcuterie boards, led by the talented owner of Salty Beach Charcuterie.

The core mission of the ONE DAYTONA Art Festival is to nurture and support arts education within the community. Proceeds from the event are donated to Daytona State College and Volusia County Schools. These funds are utilized to provide scholarships, essential supplies, and to support programs that cultivate visual artists in the region.

Whether you're an art aficionado, a casual admirer, or a family seeking a culturally enriching weekend, the ONE DAYTONA Art Festival offers something for everyone. Mark your calendars for April 5 and 6, 2025, and be part of this vibrant celebration of art, creativity, and community spirit.
